Royal Holloway, University of London於1879年由一位企業家 Thomas Holloway創辦，並於1901年成為倫敦大學其中一所學院。大學面積135英畝，是倫敦大學8個學院中較大的一個，也是倫敦大學發展科技教學的5個學院中的一個。大學的建築富有維多利亞時期的特色，校園環境優美。

 

Royal Holloway學院在教學方面非常受到肯定，尤其是藝術、人文、科學和社會科學有傑出的教學表現，而且在RAE的表現也是名列前矛，Music第1、Life Sciences 院第3、Economics第9、Drama第9、Earth Science第7、Geography第9、German第5、Art & Media第5、Psychology第5，學院整體成績名列第18。
